Bolt Type Wide Body Shackle

 

Wide bow lifting shackle designed for synthetic web slings, round slings, wire rope slings, and dedicated lifting-point connections. The widened bow geometry provides enhanced internal clearance around sling eyes and heavy-duty connecting hardware. The three-part locking design (Bolt + Nut + Cotter Pin) prevents accidental pin backing-out caused by vibration, dynamic cycling, or load rotation:

Load Bolt: High-tensile alloy bolt engineered for shear and bending resistance.

Heavy Hex Nut: Threaded securely over the bolt tail to clamp the assembly.

Cotter Pin (Split Pin): Locks the nut in position, eliminating the risk of unthreading during long-term overhead use.

 

 

Hot-Dip Galvanized (HDG): Heavy zinc coating per ASTM A153 for long-term corrosion resistance in harsh outdoor environments.

Every production batch undergoes strict quality control to satisfy international safety standards:

Raw Material Verification: Chemical composition analysis and mechanical spectro-test (Mill Test Report traceability).

Dimensional Inspection: 100% check on pin diameter, inside width, thread engagement, and alignment.

Non-Destructive Testing: Magnetic Particle Testing (MPI) on critical forging radii when specified.

Proof Load Testing: Tested to 2.0 times the Working Load Limit (2.0×WLL) per manufacturing specification.

Destructive Testing: Lot-based ultimate strength testing (5:1 or 6:1 design factor validation) and Charpy V-notch impact testing.

 

 

Step 1 - Calculate Required WLL: Determine total lifted mass, including dynamic factors and sling angles.

Step 2 - Verify Lug Hole / Pin Diameter: Ensure pin size fits the pad eye or lug hole with proper clearance.

Step 3 - Check Bow Inside Width: Confirm the width accommodates sling thickness without side distortion.

Step 4 - Verify Inside Length: Ensure sufficient headroom for shackles, hooks, and connecting hardware.

Step 5 - Evaluate Sling Type: Match shackle geometry with synthetic slings, wire rope eyes, or steel fittings.

Step 6 - Check Angle & Side Loading: Confirm loads act inline; apply ASME B30.26 derating for angled loading.

Step 7 - Select Finish & Coating: Choose Hot-Dip Galvanized for outdoor exposure or painted for identification.

Step 8 - Define Certification Requirements: Specify required quality certificates (EN 10204 3.1, Proof Test, Third-Party) before production.
