Key Product Features

Forged Carbon Steel Saddle: Hot die forged structure with high shock impact load resistance and micro-grain structural alignment.

Controlled Saddle Geometry: Deep groove profile prevents rope slippage and localized strand crushing under peak torque.

Matched Component Threads: Clean UNC / Metric threads ensure smooth wrench seating and vibration-resistant tension retention.

Corrosion Resistance Options: Hot-dip galvanizing meets ASTM A153 requirements for long-term marine and industrial exposure.

Traceable Product Markings: Cast/stamped with size, batch code, and brand mark directly on the saddle body.

Applications

Wire Rope Terminations: Forming secure mechanical eye loops at the ends of wire ropes.

Heavy Rigging Assemblies: Supporting cranes, hoists, winches, and overhead lifting equipment.

Cargo Securing & Lashings: Heavy machinery transport, marine freight, and tie-down applications.

Construction Equipment: Suspension bridge cables, tower crane guy lines, and piling rigs.

Industrial Maintenance: Replacement components for mining, oil & gas, and forestry rigging systems.

Material and Component Construction

Each assembly consists of three precision-matched components engineered for heavy-duty clamping performance:

Forged Steel Saddle: Hot drop forged from carbon steel, providing the primary load-bearing surface and preventing deformation of the live wire rope.

High-Tensile U-Bolt: Formed and threaded to exact tolerances, wrapping around the dead end of the rope to apply uniform clamping pressure.

Heavy Hex Nuts: Precision-fit nuts matching the U-bolt threading to maintain secure torque retention under dynamic vibrations.

Quality Control

To ensure zero-defect production for critical lifting and rigging applications, quality assurance checks are enforced at every stage:

Raw Material Inspection: Chemical composition analysis and tensile strength verification of incoming steel.

Forging Quality Control: Visual and dimensional checks for structural integrity, grain alignment, and absence of internal flaws.

Machining & Thread Inspection: Go/No-Go thread gauge checking on U-bolts and nuts to guarantee proper thread engagement.

Assembly Verification: Fit testing of matched saddles, U-bolts, and nuts.

Standard Installation Guidelines

Match Components: Confirm clip size matches the exact wire rope diameter.

First Clip Position: Apply the first clip one base width from the dead end of the rope. Tighten nuts to specified torque.

Second Clip Position: Apply the second clip immediately against the thimble/eye loop termination. Tighten nuts loosely.

Intermediate Clips: Space remaining clips evenly between the first two clips (minimum 1 to 3 rope diameters apart).

Apply Torque: Use a calibrated torque wrench to tighten all nuts evenly, alternating back and forth between U-bolt legs until recommended torque is achieved.

Re-Torque Inspection: Re-check and re-torque nuts after the rope has been placed under initial operating load.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What certifications and test reports can be provided?

A: We provide Material Test Certificates (EN 10204 3.1), ISO 9001 factory compliance reports, Proof Load Test Certificates, and Galvanizing Coating Thickness inspection reports.

Q: Can I request free samples for tensile and salt spray testing before placing a bulk order?

A: Yes, standard samples are available free of charge for quality testing and technical evaluation. Express freight costs can be refunded upon order confirmation.

Q: How do drop forged clips differ in load efficiency compared to cast iron clips?

A: Drop forged clips meet ASME and OSHA safety guidelines for heavy-duty lifting and guying, providing 80% to 85% efficiency. Cast iron clips are restricted to non-critical static binding applications and must never be used for overhead lifting.

Q: Do you accept OEM production based on technical drawings or customer samples?

A: Yes, our die forging workshop produces custom hardware based on 2D/3D CAD drawings (STEP, DWG, PDF) or physical samples.
